According to Foresight News, Coingecko detected unusual activity on the third-party email marketing platform GetResponse. Attackers hacked into the accounts of GetResponse employees, resulting in a data breach. Attackers exported 1,916,596 contacts from Coingecko's GetResponse account and sent phishing emails to 23,723 emails from another GetResponse customer's account.
CoinGecko said user accounts remain secure and passwords have not been compromised, and it is currently reviewing its security procedures and will seek to work with suppliers to enhance security protocols.
