⚠️IOTA launches EVM, targets DeFi and RWA assets
IOTA has launched its Layer 2 Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) network, focusing on real-world asset usage, developers shared with CoinDesk via email.
Tuesday’s launch brings features such as smart contracts, cross-chain capabilities, parallel processing and maximum extractable value, security to the IOTA ecosystem, improving the fundamentals of the IOTA token.
IOTA co-founder Dominik Schiener said in a Telegram message that Layer 2 will focus specifically on decentralized finance (DeFi) applications and the use of real-world assets (RWA).
