BlackRock, a major global wealth asset manager, has launched BUIDL, a new asset tokenization fund on Ethereum, highlighting the growing interest in this space. As a pioneer in adopting a Bitcoin ETF, BlackRock is paving the way for other funds.
According to RWA.xyz, BUIDL holds $462.5 million in Treasuries, making it the largest fund in the world. Franklin Templetonâs FOBXX follows closely behind with $346 million. Treasuries are a top asset for tokenization due to their security, especially in a high-interest environment, attracting institutional investors around the world. BlackRockâs interest in this market is not surprising given the profit potential. After the BTC and ETH spot ETFs were approved, most institutions focused on tokenizing assets, so the RWA sector is likely to become a hot spot in the future.
