While the website in question touted the start of a pre-sale for the meme coin named Gamestop (GME), hundreds of thousands of investors were targeted for fraud.
It is not yet known how many users entered this website and how much cryptocurrency they lost.
GameStop was at the center of the targets
Roaring Kitty led the GameStop saga that took Wall Street by storm in 2021. The popular name's return to social media after years led to the rise of the imitation meme coin GME.
This dazzling rise eventually came under the radar of fraudsters, and the result extended to the Microsoft account.
While GME attracted attention with its 300% upward performance in the last week, Roaring Kitty's latest Reddit post dragged the price to a new upward momentum.
