Wu said that the Paradigm team proposed the MEV tax, which is a mechanism that any application can use to capture its own MEV. This mechanism can be used on OP Stack L2s (such as OP Mainnet, Base, and Blast) because block proposers on these chains follow competitive priority sorting rules. The MEV tax can be used to solve three problems in MEV research: DEX routers optimize the prices received by swap traders; AMMs minimize the losses and rebalancing experienced by LPs; and users can capture any Back-Running MEV wallets generated by their transactions.
