🧑💻StarkWare plans to bring ZK scaling to Bitcoin
Starknet developer, StarkWare plans to bring zero-knowledge technology to Bitcoin , and expand the network alongside Ethereum .
This decision follows a technical proposal known as OP_CAT– which provides the framework needed to bring STARK scalability to Bitcoin.“Starknet will become the first network to simultaneously settle on Bitcoin and Ethereum, and time to scale Bitcoin to thousands of transactions per second. This will happen within six months of the potential Bitcoin upgrade, OP_CAT,” StarkWare CEO and co-founder Eli Ben- Sasson said. The team clarified that no additional chains were created, with plans to use the same Starknet network with the same governance and tokens, supporting Bitcoin scaling without forks. StarkWare also announced the introduction of a $1 million application-based fund for Bitcoin researchers are interested in contributing to its plans.
