According to Foresight News, IOTA announced the launch of its EVM mainnet, which is a Layer2 solution that is fully compatible with EVM for the IOTA network. IOTA said that since the first release of EVM on Shimmer in September 2023, this version has undergone a lot of improvements, testing and audits. IOTA EVM introduces features such as smart contracts, cross-chain functions, parallel processing, and enhanced security for miner extractable value (MEV).
