Odaily Planet Daily News: The U.S. Navy is seeking private sector partners to sign cooperative research and development agreements (CRADAs) to help advance its proprietary "PARANOID" blockchain technology. PARANOID (Strong Authentication System for Integrated Development of Naval Operational Flight Programs) is a blockchain-based system for protecting software from cyber attacks during development and deployment. The Naval Aviation Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) invented and developed PARANOID to protect the U.S. Navy's avionics software, but soon thereafter realized that it was applicable to any software development work where security is a factor. PARANOID protects software throughout the development process by verifying files across nodes at every step through blockchain. Every action taken by the developer is registered as an entry on the PARANOD blockchain, providing an activity ledger. According to a blog post published by TechLink, a "technology transfer partner" of the U.S. Department of Defense, the U.S. Navy is offering the system to companies that want to help further research and develop the PARANOID system.
