[Vitalik Buterin is "very important" to the future of Ethereum: experts express their opinions]

Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin was described as "extremely important" by another co-founder Joseph Lubin, a view shared by many experts. Speaking on Cointelegraph’s Decentralize Podcast, Lubin told managing editor Gareth Jenkinson that the Ethereum ecosystem would be fine even if Buterin “went to another dimension.” Lubin explained that Buterin contributed significantly to the high-level roadmap, which was implemented by others. He has always been considered a cryptoeconomist rather than a computer scientist.

Safe Wallet CEO Lucas Schor mentioned to Jenkinson at Safe{Con} in Berlin that Buterin uses their platform for fund protection, which gives their product an extra layer of validation. “It has been reported in the past that Vitalik stated that he uses Safe Wallet to protect large amounts of funds.” Schor talked about Buterin’s impact on the Ethereum ecosystem, explaining that among the many Ethereum supporters, Buterin’s influence has always had “extra Impact". He said: "In our ecosystem, Vitalik is one of the people driving the content area agenda, and he will talk about the challenges he sees in the process. By doing so, he will get a lot of people thinking about how to solve these challenges, which is very powerful value."

Schor also talked about Buterin’s impact on the development of Ethereum technology, specifically Ethereum Improvement Proposal (EIP) 7702. "The core component of 7702 [...] it has no code, it's just controlled by a private key, but with that private key you can authorize certain code, certain Spark accounts that are allowed to run on your address." Buterin The EIP-7702 proposes a new transaction type that adds a contract_code field for externally owned accounts (EOA). This means that an EOA can temporarily become a smart account within a single transaction, thereby deploying smart contract functionality without permanently changing its structure.

Lubin further elaborated on Buterin’s efforts outside of the Ethereum blockchain, saying: “[Buterin] spent a lot of time in Montenegro. There were a lot of opportunities there and elsewhere, and this collision of civilizations was organized in an organized way. Ways to change laws and enable the country to use our technology to improve itself.Lubin clarified that he wasn't sure if Buterin wanted him to talk about Montenegro, but explained that Buterin was open about what happened in Montenegro.

When talking about the Ethereum Foundation’s cooperation with Consensys, Lubin mentioned that Consensys is “working closely with the Ethereum Foundation.”
