Ethereum is at the First Critical Turn: SEC Deadline Said Today!

The SEC gave a short period of time to companies wishing to issue an Ethereum ETF.

The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has given until Friday, May 31, to companies that want to issue spot Ethereum exchange-traded funds (ETFs).

Companies were requested to submit updated versions of their S-1 files by this date. The SEC approved the 19b-4 forms on May 23, and all eyes were on the S-1 filings. Spot Ethereum ETFs will require S-1 approval for final acceptance and trading.

If all filings are collected by Friday, the SEC will provide a first round of comments and then decide whether much change is needed.

So far, BlackRock, Grayscale, and VanEck have responded to the SEC's request, filing updated S-1 filings. More companies are expected to take action soon.
