Preface:
Recently, the popularity and recognition of NFT Japanese projects are relatively high, and today's project is Shikibu, which is already well-known in Japan. This article is only a personal investigation and opinion. There is no commercial cooperation in the whole process, and it does not constitute investment advice. DYOR~
Mint Information:
Mint Date: December 11
Mint Price: 0.001ETH
Quantity/Issuance: 10k
Art style:
Unlike other Japanese projects that focus on a cute 2D girl or a 2D cyberpunk cartoon style, Shikibu is based on Japan's more traditional art style, Japanese painting, and uses Japanese painting-style characters combined with novel and advanced clothing to form distinctive NFT portraits. Personally, I feel that it is still very recognizable in the current market. Maybe this is a relatively humorous artistic cell unique to the Japanese. (Ugly if you put it bluntly, unique if you put it nicely 😳)
Team Information:
The team is currently divided into two parts. One is the kayraDAO organization responsible for project operations. At present, there is no actual achievement except Shibuki. The community is also mainly aimed at Japanese users, but what is interesting is that the main activities of the community, in addition to promoting its own NFT, also include teaching relevant web3 mailing knowledge and how individuals can make and issue NFTs. It is like playing the role of a teacher. There are not many community members at present, only more than 10,000, but the atmosphere and activity in the community are quite good. Friends who know Japanese can go and have a look, it is still very lively.
The design aspect is from Buson, the artist of the project.
Buson is from Nagasaki, Japan. He is a professional painter and cartoonist. He has published physical comics and taken advertising orders from major companies, such as the well-known Japanese TV station NHK, the famous beauty brand Kao, and the old Japanese banking institution Sumitomo Mitsui Bank. He has also held small personal exhibitions in various parts of Japan and Taiwan. The total number of fans on social media has exceeded 1.1 million, making him a household name in the Japanese industry. This time, Shikibu NFT features the classic character Shikibu created by Buson.
personal opinion:
Shikibu is an NFT work of an artist. It is a difficult challenge for the operation team to convert fans into NFT family members and bring it from web2 to web3. This is why many artists have entered the NFT field but received mediocre responses - traffic conversion is crucial, and Shikibu's operator kayraDAO has popularized Web3 knowledge when promoting the project, which can be said to be a good start. Although the results of the conversion are unknown, it is known that there are attempts to break through the barriers from web3 to web2.
Currently, the official Twitter account has 9k followers, and the official DC is mostly in Japanese. Although this "precisely locates" the group, it will also affect the participation of English or other language users. After all, if the group base is not opened, the number of 10k will make people worry that they can't finish it (unless one person can play more, after all, the price of 0.001 can be rounded to freemint).
Since the comic character "Shikibu" came into being first, and then NFTs came into being, comic books surrounding the "Shikibu" character, and even some snack products in cooperation with pastry companies have already appeared and have been sold on the market to a certain extent, so the subsequent production of NFT peripherals is not a big problem. What's more exaggerated is that the Shikibu image has already served as the publicity ambassador of the Nagasaki Prefectural Police in Japan. It can be said that it is unique in the entire NFT industry. It is not clear whether there will be successors, but it should be unprecedented (if there is, please criticize me in the comment section 🤣).
At the same time, although the official has not explicitly stated that this time's NFT is based on the CC0 mechanism, there are no restrictions on the use of NFT characters, secondary creation and commercial purposes. In fact, the project party is actually very happy for you to use NFT for commercial cooperation to achieve the purpose of promotion. However, if you hold 50 or more NFTs and want to use them for commercial purposes, you may have to discuss the terms and conditions with the project party in detail. This is a relatively important point. In addition, the project party only hopes that even 100 years after their death, these NFT characters can appear in the world and be used. It is also very abstract, but very personal.
Ok, the above is my opinion on Shikibu, everyone is welcome to leave a message in the comments~😘
