The most difficult journey of challenging the Hong Kong card, sharing the experience of stepping into the trap

I searched a lot about the postage time of Hong Kong cards before, but there are very few references. Let me tell you about my experience for reference

On March 25, I applied for HSBC Hong Kong. Because my name was too common, I didn’t get a card on the spot, and I couldn’t use it immediately through online banking. I had to wait for the card later. The difference between getting the card on the spot and mailing it is that there is a card number and name on the card

On March 26, I applied for Bank of China Hong Kong. Because the branch didn’t have the card, it was also mailed later, but I could use online banking on the spot

Then I went through a long wait~

Because I never knew that there was no phone number on the registered letter, I thought it was the same as mailing a credit card in China, and there must be a phone number to contact me. As a result, no one contacted me until May 7. I thought that I couldn’t lose both banks, so I didn’t think of calling during the period

On the afternoon of May 7, I called the customer service number of HSBC Hong Kong. The customer service said very confidently that if I didn’t receive it for a month, I would report it lost and send it again. I could choose one of the three: surface mail, express delivery, and DHL. Did I say it would cost money? The customer service said it was free, so I said I would send it by express. The ten-minute phone call ended with a report of loss.

Then I called Bank of China (Hong Kong). The customer service told me that ordinary mail is the kind with stamps, without a phone number. I heard that and said I would go back and look for it.

Sure enough, I saw my two cards in the mailbox downstairs. I called HSBC again and asked the customer service if I could cancel the report of loss. The customer service said that the report of loss would take effect immediately and asked me to wait for the new card to be mailed.

It was true that I couldn’t use it without the card. I couldn’t use the card even after I got it. I wasted half an hour on international long-distance calls and ended up shooting myself in the foot.

Continue to wait for HSBC bank cards.

The report of loss was made on May 7. Next, I’ll see which day I receive it. . .
