This article will select some content from the JoyID Passkey Wiki to help you quickly get started and use the JoyID wallet.

JoyID Wallet Introduction

1. What is JoyID Wallet?

JoyID is a crypto wallet combined with Passkey key management. Without having to remember passwords or complex mnemonics, users can create a non-custodial crypto wallet account in just ten seconds and enter the Web3 world without any hesitation.

As a web wallet solution based on the FIDO WebAuthn protocol and built using Nervos CKB, JoyID users can open an account in seconds and manage their wallets using secure account systems such as Face ID and Touch ID. In JoyID, users do not need to download or install, and can also access multiple blockchain networks and log in on multiple devices, providing a smooth and seamless user experience.

2. Main features of JoyID wallet

  • No password or mnemonic required: Access your wallet with biometric identification, ensuring that no one else can access your wallet.

  • Multi-Device Support: Trade seamlessly across your phone (Android/Apple), laptop, or any linked device.

  • Backup and restore: Provides multiple backup methods to enhance account security, and supports easy backup and restore of accounts on multiple devices.

  • Multi-chain support: In addition to supporting BTC and Nervos CKB, JoyID also supports ETH and a series of EVM chains.

  • Easy to use: Whether you are a crypto novice or a crypto OG, JoyID is your best choice to easily interact with various dApps.

3. Built-in functions of JoyID

JoyID is more than just a wallet, it now supports some built-in features:

Spore DOBs Market: The first DOBs trading market

JoyID has launched the first DOBs (digital objects) trading market. DOBs are developed based on the on-chain digital asset protocol Spore Protocol, and their intrinsic value is supported by locked CKB tokens; the more on-chain storage space a DOB requires, the more CKB it locks. Users can now trade DOBs such as Unicorn Box on the JoyID market.

Coins: RGB++ Asset DEX

Coins is a DEX that supports RGB++ FT asset trading. You can access it by clicking Coins on the Market page. With no gas fees or transaction fees, users can experience smooth trading of RGB++ assets on the Bitcoin Layer 2 (i.e., CKB blockchain).

How to use JoyID wallet

2. Where can I download JoyID?

JoyID is a browser wallet. You don’t need to download and install the app. Just click app.joy.id to access it.

Step 1: Upgrade your account

  1. Access the account you need to back up via app.joy.id on your old device.

  2. Click the Settings button in the upper right corner, open Security, click "+", and click Upgrade to pay for the upgrade. The upgrade costs 150 CKB, so make sure your wallet account balance is more than 250 CKB.

  3. After the upgrade is successful, you can click on the CKB balance and check that 150CKB is occupied.

Step 2: Account backup

  1. Access the JoyID account to be backed up, click the Settings button in the upper right corner of the old device, open Security, and click "+".

  2. Get the authorization QR code/link:

    a. Scan the QR code on a new device and open it in a browser (Chrome is recommended)

    b. Copy the URL and open it in the browser of the new device (Chrome is recommended)

  3. Access the authorization link on the new device, verify twice, and generate a Passkey. Note: During the entire backup process, please keep the screen on the old device to ensure that the backup can proceed smoothly.

5. How to split RGB++ assets using JoyID wallet?

For RGB++ assets on the Bitcoin chain, if it is FT, the asset split can be performed in the following ways:

  1. Log in to the JoyID wallet, switch to the BTC network, and select the RGB++ asset you want to split (such as SEAL).

  2. Click Send, then send it to your own BTC address, and fill in the amount you want to split in the Amount column.

  3. Click Confirm and sign.

  4. Check the transaction status. When all the statuses are completed, the split is successful. You can go to HueHub to view the split assets and place orders.

6. How to Leap RGB++ assets on the Bitcoin chain to the CKB chain?

JoyID wallet already supports the Leap function of RGB++ assets. After logging into JoyID, switch to the Bitcoin network, then click on your RGB++ asset (such as SEAL), select Bitcoin L2 (CKB) on the sending interface and enter the CKB address and amount, select the mining fee, and finally click Send and sign to confirm.

The video tutorial is as follows:

It should be noted that in order to ensure security (to prevent block reorganization), the entire Leap process takes about 1 hour. After Leap is completed, the RGB++ assets are on the CKB blockchain and can be traded using the DEX built into the JoyID wallet or Omiga's Marketplace.

FAQ

1. I lost my phone. How can I retrieve my JoyID account?

If you have another device to log in or back up, your assets are still safe and you can log in directly using another device.

If you have previously enabled Passkey, your assets are still safe and synced between devices on the same iCloud or Google account. To access JoyID on a new device using biometrics, select Sign in with Passkey on the login page.

2. Why does it say that the Passkey does not exist or the Passkey was not found on this device?

If this prompt appears, it means that your account on this device has been lost due to resetting the device PIN code/lock screen password/system upgrade. Please follow the steps below to determine whether it can be recovered:

  • If you have already made a backup of your account, you can restore it using another device.

  • I haven't done an account upgrade backup, but I can find the JoyID Passkey in my Google Account / iCloud account. I can restore it by trying to log in to my Google Account / iCloud. When logging in, please make sure that the device can access Google / Apple services.

  • Restore via CKB address. For some models, users can return to the login interface and restore via CKB address.

If you have tried the above methods and still cannot recover your account, it means your account has been lost.

3. Under what circumstances will my wallet be lost or I will be unable to log in?

If you don’t make any backups, the following situations will cause your wallet to be lost/unable to log in, and you will not be able to recover it:

  • Reset the device's lock screen password/PIN code. This operation will make the account unable to be restored/recovered.

  • Go to the backed-up Google Account / iCloud account and delete the JoyID Passkey. This operation will make the account unable to be restored / retrieved.

  • Create a JoyID account using a browser without enabling Passkey Backup, and then clear the browser cache.
