Ethereum Spot ETF Approval Odds Increase as Deadline Approaches
Ethereum rose as much as 19% on Monday as hopes for an Ethereum spot ETF approval rose significantly.
The SEC has asked exchanges to update their 19b-4 filings for Ethereum spot ETFs ahead of the May 23 deadline.
Despite the progress so far, it is not guaranteed that the ETFs will launch on May 23 or soon after, as S-1 registration statements also need to be approved for an Ethereum spot ETF to launch, which could take weeks or months to complete.
In a post on Platform 'X', Eric Balchunas, senior ETF analyst at Bloomberg - who has reported extensively on bitcoin spot ETF approvals - increased his Ethereum spot ETF approval odds from 25% to 75%.
