North Korean hackers steal $721 million worth of cryptocurrencies from Japan
A hacker group linked to North Korea has seized $721 million worth of cryptocurrencies from Japan since 2017.
The activities of North Korea-linked groups were first widely observed in 2014, and in addition to cyberattacks, these groups steal information related to defense, healthcare, and other areas. According to Elliptic estimates, North Korea stole more than $2.3 billion in cryptocurrencies from companies between 2017 and the end of 2022.
