ZetaChain, an interoperability-focused Layer 1 blockchain operator, introduced ZetaChain 2.0, the first universal EVM for chain abstraction, in an official blog post.

ZetaChain 2.0 is a series of proposed upgrades that expand the following current capabilities of the general EVM stack: 1. Messaging and asset management become composable, supporting abstract processing of complex multi-step transactions and simplifying user operations. 2. General applications can combine user assets across multiple chains, and users only need to interact with one application on ZetaChain to enjoy application services on multiple chains. 3. General proof of stake allows users to pledge native assets (such as BTC, ETH, BNB) to ZetaChain's PoS, earn rewards, and enhance network security. 4. Added Bitcoin compatibility, IBC (inter-chain communication protocol), and additional chain integrations, enabling more users and wallets to access general applications on ZetaChain. #crypto2023A
