According to Yunnan.com, the Kunming Public Security Bureau announced five typical cases of economic crimes on May 14, one of which was a case in which Li and others were suspected of organizing and leading virtual currency pyramid selling activities. Since 2022, Li and others have established a community on a public chain on the Internet, using "staking virtual currency to obtain static mining income" and "developing downline staking virtual currency mining to obtain a large amount of dynamic recruitment income" as bait, claiming that each level of players can obtain 2% to 30% of direct push downline management rewards. The gang distributed promotional materials on social platforms such as WeChat and QQ to attract a large number of people to participate, and the funds involved in the case reached 280 million yuan. As of April 2023, the organization has developed more than 10,000 members and formed a 15-level criminal structure. At present, 15 suspects have been arrested, 8 have been approved for arrest, and 11 have been transferred for review and prosecution.
