Beşiktaş's Sponsor, Stock Exchange, Was Attacked: Bitcoin and 3 Altcoins Affected!

Bahrain-based cryptocurrency exchange Rain was subjected to a cyber attack worth millions of dollars.

Rain, one of the largest cryptocurrency exchanges in the Middle East, announced that it was subjected to a cyber attack worth $14.8 million.

According to the information provided, the attack in question took place on April 29. Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Solana (SOL), and Ripple (XRP) assets were affected by the attack.

The attackers transferred all of these assets to other exchanges through different wallets and then converted Solana and Ripple balances into Bitcoin and Ethereum.

In total, ZachXBT reported the theft of 137.9 Bitcoins and 1,881 Ethereum. In parallel with the events, the "pro" version, which is the advanced platform of the stock exchange, has been interrupted intermittently since May 5.

According to the information on the official website of Rain company, the company is controlled by the Central Bank of Bahrain. Rain also stands out as the sponsor of Beşiktaş.

“All customer assets are safe!”

Making a statement on the issue, Rain co-founder Yehia Badawy stated that all customer funds are safe and an investigation is being conducted into the stolen assets:

We confirm that the Rain platform is secure and all its services, including deposits, withdrawals, sending and receiving, continue as usual. All customer funds are held 1:1 and securely. We are fully cooperating with leading global law enforcement and intelligence agencies to track down the funds and group behind this incident. Due to the sensitivity of the issue, we cannot comment further.
