The Internet Computer is a universal blockchain developed and initiated by the DFINITY Foundation in May 2021 with the goal of becoming the “world computer” that can host decentralized applications (dapps). The goal is to provide controllable computational costs that far exceed the cost fluctuation and scalability issues of traditional blockchains.
