The Safe Asset Fund for Users (SAFU) is an emergency insurance fund created in 2018 to protect Binance users in extraordinary situations and remains an important element that differentiates us from other exchanges. Over the years, we have continued to monitor SAFU's growth and maintain its balance at a level sufficient to protect our users. Although there are fluctuations, this level is generally determined as 1 billion USD.
Going forward, SAFU will continue to be a core part of our responsibility to the ecosystem and we will continue to evolve to meet market conditions. Today, we are converting 100% of SAFU's assets into USDC. Using a trusted, audited and transparent stablecoin for SAFU will further increase the reliability of SAFU and ensure that it remains stable at the 1 billion USD level.
