According to an announcement on April 24, Nvidia, the world's leading chip manufacturer, acquired Israeli artificial intelligence (AI) startup Run:ai. While Nvidia did not disclose the value of the deal, Israeli firm Calcalist put the figure at about 700 million USD.

The acquisition aims to help its customers more effectively leverage AI computing resources, which are becoming increasingly complex with distributed workloads across multiple platforms.

Run:ai provides an open platform to manage and optimize AI computing infrastructure across any environment, from on-premises to the cloud. Some useful features include easier management and access to AI resources; more efficient use of GPU resources and integration with third-party AI tools and frameworks.

NVIDIA is committed to continuing to invest in Run:ai and integrate it into its leading products, including NVIDIA DGX Cloud, NVIDIA DGX SuperPOD, NVIDIA Base Command, and many others.

This acquisition strengthens the tech giant's leadership position in the AI computing market and helps the company provide customers with a more comprehensive solution for deploying and managing AI applications.
