Crypto exposure among Canada-based institutional investors surged last year, with nearly 40% reporting direct or indirect involvement in crypto assets, up from 31% in 2021, according to a KPMG survey. The study also found that a third of these investors have allocated 10% or more of their portfolios to crypto assets, a significant increase from two years ago. The approval of Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs in Canada and the US has played a crucial role in this trend. Half of the surveyed investors have crypto exposure through Canadian ETFs or other regulated products, while 58% have exposure through the stock market.
