❗️ The U.S. Department of Justice demands 36 months of imprisonment for Changpeng Zhao

🇺🇸 The U.S. Department of Justice has requested a three-year prison sentence for the founder and former CEO of Binance, Changpeng Zhao (CZ).

🗣 "He made a business decision that violating U.S. laws was the best way to attract users, build his company, and line his pockets," stated the U.S. DOJ.

🔍 Zhao's defense disagrees with the U.S. prosecutors and is requesting a probationary term, highlighting his admission of guilt, cooperation with authorities, and significant fines already paid by him and Binance.

👤 Furthermore, yesterday Changpeng Zhao sent a letter to the U.S. court apologizing.

💬 "I apologize for my poor decisions and take full responsibility for my actions. There is no excuse for my failure to establish the necessary compliance controls at Binance," says CZ.

🗓 Currently, Zhao remains free on bail set at $175 million. The sentencing is scheduled for April 30.
