On April 14, TEAMZ Summit was successfully concluded in Tokyo, Japan. The conference was hosted by TEAMZ, co-hosted by DFG, Jsquare, Emurgo, Taisu, TV A asahi, C² Ventures, supported by Mori Bulding, Japan Cryptocurrency Exchange Association JVCEA, Japan Cryptocurrency Business Association JCB, Japan Blockchain Association JBA, and supported by the Minato City Government of Japan. 85 sponsors, including Sony, Animoca Brands, Ton, Telegram, Circle, Tron, Polkadot, Aptos, Filecoin, Internet Computer, 32 excellent VC institutions with a total AUM value of 10B USD, 100 communities, 100 media, and nearly 50 peripheral activities, TEAMZ Summit was held for two days on April 13 and 14, with a total of more than 5,200 participants. This summit also opened a wonderful prelude to various benefits and developments in Japan's 2024 Web3 industry.

Opening Remarks

TEAMZ CEO Yang Tianyu

TEAMZ CEO Yang Tianyu gave an opening speech for the TEAMZ Summit. He pointed out that the Japanese government will introduce an official yen stablecoin in 2024, the Japanese government will reform the digital cryptocurrency tax system, the world's largest number of institutions will participate in the construction of Japan's Web3 industry, a large number of high-quality Japanese IPs and Web3 are combined, the world's largest number of licensed digital cryptocurrency exchanges, and a huge Web3 community foundation, which are undoubtedly Japan's unique advantages in the future development of Web3. The slogan of this conference is also to connect Japan and the world through Web3. It is hoped that the conference can help more high-quality overseas projects land in Japan, and it is also hoped that high-quality Japanese local projects can better connect to the international market through the platform of the conference.

Masaaki Taira, Member of the House of Representatives, Vice Minister of the Cabinet Office, and Web3PT of the Digital Society Promotion Headquarters of the Government of Japan, delivered a welcome speech to the conference. He pointed out that the Japanese government had just released a white paper on Web3 and AI on April 12, 2024, the day before the opening of the conference, which is expected to become the basis for the Japanese government to develop Web3 and AI in the future. The Kishida administration positioned Web3 as part of the national growth strategy and worked to address issues such as the market value assessment tax on its own tokens. In addition, the Japanese government is also dealing with legal issues of blockchain-based DAOs and has proposed bills to include crypto assets in investment portfolios. In terms of AI, the Japanese government has taken a flexible approach to deal with the strict regulations of the European Union while formulating regulations on the latest technologies to promote innovation. In the future, discussions on policies in the field of Web3 and AI will continue, such as capital gains tax, and more outstanding overseas Web3 entrepreneurs are welcome to enter the Japanese market in the future to jointly build a new ecology of emerging industries Web3 and AI.

Summary of the highlights of the second conference venue

TEAMZ held a Startup Pitch presentation at the second venue of the conference on the 13th, including representatives from DigiFT, Magic Circle, Jasmy, Thxnet, BytomDAO, Crossvalue Chain, AIBOT, elven, Magstream, Unicorn Ultra, and Cointel. At the same time, a VIP closed-door meeting was held on the 13th with the participation of Taisu, Helix, BlockPI, AID:Tech, CSPRO, and Alibaba Cloud.
