[Ragnarok enters Web3 through Ronin cooperation]

Blockchain platform Ronin collaborates with Gravity to bring the classic game "Ragnarok Online" into the Web3 world with the launch of "Ragnarok: Monster World". This is another case of successful migration of Web2 game IP to the Ronin network after Pixels.

Sky Mavis CEO and co-founder Trung Nguyen said Ragnarok has a deep fan base in Southeast Asia, including many company team members. He emphasized the company's commitment to leveraging cutting-edge technology to introduce IP that transcends gaming culture, and looked forward to seeing the so-called Ronin Effect in Monster World.

The development of "Ragnarok: Monster World" is led by Web3 development company and game studio ZERO X AND. The team has extensive experience in online game development and is a member of the Google Cloud Entrepreneurship Program. The game is expected to launch on Ronin in the third quarter of 2024 and will offer a hybrid experience of monster collecting and tower defense. Players will be able to tame monsters, train and compete for rewards in PvP battles, with future updates also adding PvE and GvG functionality.

Seokjun Kim, founder of ZERO X AND, expressed his excitement about working with the Axie Infinity team, praising its leadership in the new P2E and NFT industries. He said that by combining the team’s skills in Web2 and SkyMavis’ expertise in Web3, the goal is to cultivate a stronger gaming and blockchain community.

Ragnarok was originally a Korean Manwha comic book series developed into a game by Korean publisher Gravity and has been downloaded more than 167 million times worldwide. The IP has also expanded into animated series and mobile games, strengthening its cultural impact.

Since its founding in 2021, Ronin has accumulated approximately 17.6 million wallet addresses and is in the process of further expansion for its upcoming zkEVM. The partnership with Sky Mavis aims to increase the success of the game through its Web3 Publishing Stack and dedicated community.
