Mike Schmidt, co-founder of a non-profit organization for Bitcoin, stated that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) issued a subpoena requesting personal information of participants in the 2022 Bitcoin Core developer activities. The subpoena was related to Luke Dashjr, a Bitcoin developer who claimed to have lost about 216 BTC in a hack attack. Mike Schmidt confirmed to the FBI that he sent the email and provided the attendees' surnames, first names, GitHub usernames, and email addresses to the FBI. Mike Schmidt also stated that the FBI requested him not to disclose the subpoena for one year, and that the subpoena had already expired shortly before he sent the email.
