2024.4.4 Daily Update: David Einhorn, a billionaire investor and head of Greenlight Capital, a US hedge fund that is as famous as Soros and other financial tycoons, is increasing his bets on gold, believing that the Federal Reserve will not be able to control inflation and will be forced to maintain its restrictive monetary policy for longer than expected.
"I think inflation is re-accelerating, and there are many signs that this is the case," Einhorn said at the annual Sohn Investment Conference in New York on Wednesday. In an environment of high inflation, he said in an interview with CNBC that the Federal Reserve is unlikely to cut interest rates three times this year. He also added that there is a high possibility that the Federal Reserve will not cut interest rates at all this year.
