In 2024, Pinax plans to support new chains of network integration, enrich new data services, facilitate the development of decentralized data, and provide educational resources for web3 builders.
Pinax is preparing for an ambitious 2024. Our goal is to enhance The Graph and the web3 developer ecosystem through innovation and support.
What is our mission? To accelerate growth, simplify development, and enhance learning.
Learn about our plans:
Support for new chains integrated with The Graph Network.
Launch new and advanced data services.
Support for the sunrise of decentralized data on The Graph.
Expanding educational resources for web3 builders.
Blockchain networks that support The Graph integration
When The Graph Foundation launched the Chain Integration Process (CIP), a streamlined, community-driven approach for adding new blockchain networks to The Graph Network, Pinax stepped up its support for chains in the integration process.
We will continue to support new chains integrated with The Graph to allow more developers and participants to join the ecosystem. By helping more chains join the network, we will expand and advance the multi-chain, decentralized movement.
We are also expanding our infrastructure to support chains integrated with The Graph Network. This includes increasing the number of our RPC nodes on various blockchains to enhance the chain integration process and upgrade indexer functionality.
We are also working closely with InfraDAO to streamline the operational guidance and documentation process for these new chains, ensuring a smooth and efficient integration path.
Introducing new data services
The Graph will provide a large number of data services. We plan to help by providing Firehose and Substreams services, as well as long-term data storage for blobs, Geo data services, and more. These new services simplify blockchain data processing and analysis, allowing developers to create more efficient applications.
We plan to support more chains and improve the speed and reliability of our Firehose and Substreams services by talking to customers and understanding their experiences to identify areas where our services need improvement.
Test new data services
One of the ways we're supporting new data services on The Graph is by piloting some of these technologies. We test them and provide feedback to the core development team (including ourselves) for smoother adoption in the future.
An example of this approach is the file hosting service we are testing with Messari. This service is designed to simplify access to subflow outputs. Builders will be able to download these outputs in a variety of file formats without having to run the subflow themselves. The goal is to enhance the user experience by simplifying access to essential data.
We are also offering early access to the Firehose and Substreams services (free for a limited time) through the Pinax app. This allows us to understand the market and demand for these services, which will help The Graph meet customer demand when Firehose and Substreams launch as data services on the network.
Sunrise supports decentralized data on The Graph
Pinax is a key enabler of The Graph's evolution toward a decentralized network, focusing on ensuring that our indexers are optimized for migrating subgraphs from hosted services. We provide support and expertise to indexers and developers, demonstrating our commitment to the advancement of our community. We are committed to building a fully decentralized network and helping the transition happen.
We are currently providing RPC endpoints for Ethereum (ETH), Binance Smart Chain (BNB), Polygon (MATIC), and their testnets. We plan to add more blockchains soon. This will help indexers index these subgraphs more easily when migrating to decentralized networks. We will work with the indexer community as well as upgrading indexers to ensure that all subgraphs currently on the hosting service are indexed on the decentralized network.
Providing an RPC endpoint completes our indexer package and responds to customers who want a complete set of tools from one place, a one-stop shop for RPC, Firehose and subflows.
Provide educational support
We believe that providing educational materials for beginner, intermediate and advanced levels will help grow and enrich The Graph and the web3 developer ecosystem. By creating useful documentation, tutorials, and resources, we hope to lower the barrier to entry and foster a knowledgeable, tech-savvy community.
We will continue to produce:
Substreams Unleashed Videos
Graph Espresso YouTube show
Helpful walkthrough videos, such as our Pinax application video
New blog posts about The Graph, Firehose, and Substreams
Community content, such as Indexer office hours summaries
We are currently working with InfraDAO, BuildersDAO, and AdvocatesDAO to plan and create educational content. This partnership has the potential to create a clear path for people to become effective participants in The Graph, whether they are consumers, builders, service providers, or advocates.
