According to U.Today, XRP Ledger (XRPL) has successfully closed 87 million ledgers, marking a significant milestone in its journey and showcasing its growing influence in the blockchain space. In the context of XRP Ledger, ledgers refer to immutable records of transactions and account balances maintained and validated by a distributed network of nodes. The current ledger count stands at 87,012,561, with over five million accounts holding a total of 60,379,116,279 XRP.

XRP Ledger is set to continue its growth and evolution, with plans for further enhancements and upgrades in the pipeline. Last month, the Automated Market Maker (AMM) amendment, XLS-30, went live on the XRP Ledger mainnet after over two years in development. The native feature aims to provide on-chain liquidity and trading capabilities for DeFi developers and users. A bug affecting AMM functionality was discovered shortly after its launch, but a fix has been released under the 2.1.1 release of XRPL software, Rippled. The AMM bug fix amendment has reached over 80% consensus for activation and is expected on April 11. Additionally, XRP Ledger has recorded growth in NFTs, with 6,492,852 minted so far, according to Bithomp Explorer data. Major updates and features are anticipated to arrive on XRP Ledger in the coming months.
