Tether, the team behind the USDT stablecoin, has announced the launch of a division focused on artificial intelligence. Tether’s foray into the field of artificial intelligence aims to emphasize the development of open source artificial intelligence models and promote cooperation to integrate these technological advances into practical solutions.

The company disclosed in a statement on Tuesday that "the unit will focus on the development of open source artificial intelligence models and work with other companies to integrate these models into products that can solve real-world challenges."

As part of the launch, Tether is conducting a recruitment campaign to staff its AI department, with positions including AI R&D leaders and AI engineers. Tether is best known for its creation of the USDT stablecoin, a digital currency pegged to the U.S. dollar with a market capitalization of $105 billion.

Tether CEO Paulo Ardoino said,

“With this announcement, Tether not only redraws the boundaries of artificial intelligence technology development, but also promotes the popularization and democratization of open artificial intelligence technology that protects user privacy.”

The transition to artificial intelligence is part of a broader effort that began last year when Tether invested in Northern Data. The company, listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, has transitioned from cryptocurrency mining to providing computing resources for artificial intelligence data analysis. #人工智能 #Tether
