The SEC wants to fine Ripple $2 billion to end the four-year lawsuit.
Although the judge said XRP is not a security, Ripple's direct sale of XRP to investment institutions is considered a form of investment contract and requires registration.
Ripple's CEO said that just because he did not register, he was fined 2 billion USD, there is absolutely no precedent for this... it sounds like this case will last a long time.
