Despite the challenges facing the global economy, the total market value and prices of crypto assets have grown significantly in 2023, especially in the last quarter. In December, the total market value of cryptocurrencies exceeded $1.6 trillion, an increase of more than 110% for the whole year. In response to this growth, Binance Academy continues to focus on providing quality education to the growing community of blockchain users.

In 2023, Binance Academy helped more than 27 million students improve their understanding of the blockchain and cryptocurrency world in 31 languages. The Binance Academy University Tour promotion has achieved remarkable results, with more than 10,000 people from 139 universities in 45 countries participating, which is a huge scale.

Expanding global university outreach programs

In October 2023, Binance Academy and the Blockchain Center announced a collaboration to expand their global university outreach program, aiming to integrate blockchain education into the curriculum of more than 200 universities in more than 50 countries. According to the plan, more than one million students will be educated in blockchain engineering and compliance by 2026.

In the long term, the collaboration will also aim to provide professional training to more than 300 university educators, creating a comprehensive academic knowledge base. The Blockchain Center will be responsible for overseeing the education and training portion of the program, while Binance Academy will be responsible for expanding the program globally and organizing guest lectures from industry experts.

The program includes a 20-week Blockchain Engineering course covering distributed ledger technology, BNB Chain basics, Web3, and Solidity development, as well as a 13-week Compliance course focusing on the operation of blockchain technology within a regulatory framework, compliance, and potential regulatory challenges.

To select appropriate participating universities, the Blockchain Center used a methodology that took into account regional influence, educational infrastructure, cryptocurrency adoption index, frontier technology readiness index, and academic freedom index.

Binance Academy’s extensive network will play a key role in recruiting new universities. In the pilot program in Kazakhstan, 4,000 students have begun studying blockchain-related subjects, and subsequent programs will use this as a template for continued development.

Intermediate course starts

Binance Academy continues its commitment to advancing blockchain and cryptocurrency education with the launch of a series of intermediate courses in 2023. Following the successful launch of beginner courses, these free online courses meet the needs of those who have mastered the basics. The intermediate courses include six courses covering topics such as blockchain, cryptocurrency, and DApps. Subsequent courses will also delve into DeFi, NFTs, and crypto trading.

After successfully completing each course, students have the opportunity to receive a certificate of achievement. These certificates serve as proof of completion of a course of study at Binance Academy. Users can collect up to six certificates while completing intermediate courses. The program is designed to help individuals equip themselves with the knowledge they need to easily navigate the soon-to-be-mature Web3 space.
