❗️ The EU introduces sanctions against cryptocurrency assets
🇪🇺 On March 12, the European Parliament approved a new package of rules to combat sanctions violations, including cryptocurrencies.
🗣 "We need this legislation because differences in national approaches have created weaknesses and loopholes, and it will allow the confiscation of frozen assets," said Dutch MP Sophie in't Veld.
🔍 It is noted that the EU's restrictive measures apply to a wide range of financial services, including the provision of "crypto-assets". Sanctions can also involve freezing assets, including cryptocurrencies.
