Binance has successfully frozen $4.2 million in XRP linked to the recent hack targeting Ripple Chief Chairman Chris Larsen's personal wallet.
In a tweet on X, Chris Larsen affirmed that the hack was only targeted at his personal wallet and not at Ripple itself.
In the latest update on the situation, Binance's CEO, Richard Teng, credited the achievement to collaboration with $XRP Ledger developers and on-chain detective ZachXBT.
But as well know, due to the idea of decentralisation, Binance does not have access to the tokens in the attacker's wallet. Freezing it is the most they can do.
This cooperation helped identify relevant funds and address the security breach. Binance's team continues to pledge ongoing support for Ripple in investigations, closely monitoring attacker wallets to facilitate the recovery of the allegedly "stolen" project funds.
