According to official news from ChainCatcher, the BNB Beacon Chain announced a milestone plan for the next six months, aiming to facilitate a smooth transition of the BNB Chain community.
January: Notify all validators and staking pools about the deactivation of the staking feature; Bind BEP2/BEP8 assets to BNB Smart Chain (BSC); Integrate with different wallets to support cross-chain withdrawal of BEP2/BEP8 assets; Centralized exchanges, especially Binance, and wallets like Trust Wallet are advised to stop transferring assets to the beacon chain.
February: Bridge services will be disabled for atomic swaps until April.
April: Full migration of all validators to BSC; all validators are to transfer their voting rights
May: Users and delegators will be advised to verify their auto-refund balances; backups of balances will be generated and published for community verification to enhance transparency and trust;
June: Release of a token migration application to help users retrieve funds that remain on the beacon chain.
As previously reported, the BNB Chain community launched BEP333: BNB Chain Fusion, a proposal to gradually remove the BNB beacon chain from its ecosystem. The proposal focuses on improving the efficiency of the development of the balanced BSC, strengthening security and improving asset utilization efficiency.
