Chile's consumer protection watchdog, SERNAC, has notified World and Rappi to stop conducting iris scanning activities in Chile, PANews reported.
Rappi clarified that the memorandum of understanding signed with World is aimed at piloting the iris scanning program in Argentina in 2024, not Chile.
SERNAC said it has received multiple complaints, including issues such as registration of minors, non-disclosure of data and inability to delete data.
