According to Odaily Planet Daily, Bitcoin mining company DMG Blockchain Solutions Inc. announced that it has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Malahat Nation to develop an artificial intelligence (AI) data center with a total capacity of 30 megawatts, which will be equally divided between the two parties.

DMG plans to develop part of its AI infrastructure at its Christina Lake facility, while Malahat will focus on expanding its infrastructure on its Vancouver Island land. Both parties are committed to using clean energy in British Columbia, in line with the province’s sustainable development goals.

The project will be managed through a general partnership led by DMG. According to the definitive agreement signed by both parties, the partnership plans to obtain power for the Malahat portion and future expansion phases from BC Hydro. DMG will be responsible for the development, management and operation of the two data centers, which are designed to meet the processing elasticity needs of future customer projects.
