According to Cointelegraph, the Constitutional Court of Montenegro suspended the extradition proceedings of former Terraform Labs founder and CEO Do Kwon on October 18. The day before, the Ministry of Justice said it had made an extradition decision and promised to announce it on October 20.

The Supreme Court in September handed over the decision on Kwon's extradition to the Ministry of Justice, which has been requested by both the United States and South Korea. The Constitutional Court notified the Ministry of Justice at the last minute to suspend the extradition proceedings, and the Ministry of Justice requested to be notified as soon as possible.

Kwon and former CFO Han Chang-joon were arrested at Podgorica Airport in March 2023 and sentenced to four months in prison for using false passports. Han was extradited to South Korea in February 2024.

Kwon was convicted of defrauding investors in a civil case brought by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and may still have control over his crypto wallets. In September, a wallet associated with him transferred 1,075 Bitcoins worth $62 million.
