According to Cointelegraph, scammers have found a new way to quietly burn tokens in users' wallets by using Solana's built-in token extension. Jupiter Core Working Group member Slorg said that scammers used Solana's Permanent Delegate extension to delete the target's cryptocurrency. Users found that the tokens disappeared after the transaction, and after investigation, they found that it was due to the extension. Permanent Delegate is a feature in the Solana Token 2022 standard that allows tokens to be burned or transferred without restrictions. Although the feature has legitimate uses, it can also be abused. PeckShield and Beosin believe that scammers may manipulate token prices by reducing the circulating supply. Slorg emphasized that users should be vigilant when making token swaps and read all information carefully to avoid losses.
