According to ChainCatcher, Animoca Brands-backed startup KOR Protocol has launched a new streaming service called KOR Player. DJs such as Joel Zimmerman (deadmau5), Plastkman, Inder Phull, Ben Turner and Dean Wilson have joined as early supporters.

KOR Player enables users to play and remix music using a suite of tools, including a “sound library” vault of intellectual property where artists upload samples. It also integrates artificial intelligence to verify the origin of the music and pays royalties in cryptocurrency.

According to a press release, KOR aims to address the gray area of music copyright law and the use of unlicensed intellectual property in video games, live streaming, esports broadcasts, and more, while providing new distribution channels for artists and labels to reach fans and monetize their work.
