Nigeria’s Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) plans to submit a bill to tax the cryptocurrency industry to parliament for approval by September, PANews reported.

The tax agency’s executive chairman, Zacch Adedeji, revealed the plan during a meeting with the finance committees of the Senate and House of Representatives of the National Assembly.

Adedeji said that creating laws to regulate the cryptocurrency industry is their first priority and the legislature will form the basis for the charges.
