According to ChainCatcher, Drawdy, a Columbia County man, admitted to selling expensive computer equipment that was not delivered to more than 40 customers and was sentenced to federal prison. Judge J. Randal Hall ordered Drawdy to pay more than $1.1 million in restitution and to receive three years of supervised release after serving his sentence.

From August 2021 to April 2022, Drawdy collected more than $1.1 million from at least 42 victims on an online cryptocurrency discussion forum who thought they were buying cryptocurrency "mining" computers. However, Drawdy did not deliver the computers, kept the money for himself, and eventually stopped contacting the customers.
