According to Odaily, CarnationFM made its debut at the 2024 EthBerlin conference. Created by five hackers and a mentor, this decentralized and encrypted communication tool aims to protect private information and maintain anonymity. The project was awarded the Best Social Impact Award at EthBerlin 2024, focusing on developing privacy-conscious real-world applications following the sentencing of Alexey Perstev. In May of this year, Alexey Perstev, one of the co-founders of Tornado Cash, was sentenced to 64 months in prison.

CarnationFM operates in a decentralized manner by broadcasting music through Swarm, a decentralized data storage solution running on the Ethereum blockchain. One of the co-creators, MF, explained that while anyone can listen to or download the music, only those with the public key can access the encrypted information.
