According to Odaily Planet Daily, Swiss blockchain venture capital firm CV VC released a report saying that Africa received US$34.7 million in investment in the first half of 2024, a 74% decrease from US$135.4 million in 2023.

Despite the low funding amounts, the number of deals in the region increased by 9%.

Global blockchain financing has also dropped significantly. In the first half of 2023, $10.66 billion was raised, while in the same period of 2024, only $5.74 billion was raised, a year-on-year decrease of 64%. In 2024, there were only 678 transactions, a decrease of 49% from 1,306 transactions in the same period of 2023.
