According to Odaily, the individual who attacked PancakeBunny, a DeFi yield aggregator, has deposited 1002 ETH, equivalent to approximately 2.9 million USD, into Tornado Cash. This incident occurred on a Sunday.
PancakeBunny had previously been the victim of a flash loan attack in May 2021, during which approximately 45 million USD was stolen. The attacker's address, identified as 0x820C, still holds DAI worth 11.4 million USD.
Tornado Cash is a privacy-focused Ethereum mixing service, which could potentially allow the attacker to obscure the origins of the stolen funds. The deposit of the 1002 ETH into Tornado Cash is the latest development in the aftermath of the attack on PancakeBunny.
The attack on PancakeBunny in 2021 was one of several high-profile exploits in the DeFi sector, highlighting the potential risks and vulnerabilities in the rapidly evolving space. The attacker's continued possession of a significant amount of DAI suggests that the fallout from the attack is still ongoing.
