According to Odaily Planet Daily, in response to the statement by Ordinals founder Casey that "runes and inscriptions will be as programmable as Bitcoin", Bitcoin core developer Luke Dashjr commented: "Wrong. Bitcoin has a homogeneous property, which is an essential attribute of the second-layer network. Ordinals breaks the 'structure' of the second-layer network and is completely incompatible (do not confuse it with scams that claim to be second-layer networks). Inscriptions rely on the existence of Ordinals and are downstream of the network chain."
