According to ChainCatcher, a local court in China has ruled that Tron DAO founder Justin Sun has won his defamation lawsuit against Chongqing Business Daily. The court said that the media company’s claims that Sun was involved in insider trading, fraud and money laundering were “completely untenable.”
Chongqing Business Daily Group subsequently “deleted all false content and issued a formal apology to Justin Sun,” according to a statement released by Tron DAO. The statement also revealed that the media company admitted to publishing the defamatory content without verification.
Sun filed the lawsuit on March 11, 2022, after Chongqing Business Daily Group published an offensive article on its platform, which also suggested that Sun was under investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
