According to Odaily, Holograph recently announced the destruction of approximately 51,925,313 HLG tokens. This action comes in response to an illegal attack on the Holograph protocol that occurred on June 13, which resulted in a malicious increase in the total supply of HLG. The attacker transferred 1 billion HLG to various CEXs and began selling off the tokens.
After reporting the situation to the exchanges, about 200 million HLG were successfully frozen and are currently being recovered through legal procedures. The remaining circulating supply of HLG is approximately 800 million. Following extensive discussions with the community, a plan to restore the total supply of HLG to 10 billion has been initiated. There are currently 789,949,266 HLG remaining to be destroyed.
