According to Wu, Japanese investment company Metaplanet recently disclosed an additional purchase of 250 million yen ($1.6 million) worth of BTC, increasing its largest cryptocurrency holding to 141 BTC, with a total value of approximately $9.4 million. This is the company's third purchase of BTC since April 2024. Last month, Metaplanet said it would use Bitcoin as a reserve asset to reduce Japan's debt burden and the risks posed by yen fluctuations.
