According to Odaily Planet Daily, IOTA announced the launch of its EVM mainnet, a Layer 2 solution that is fully compatible with the EVM on the IOTA network. Since the first release of EVM on Shimmer in September 2023, this version has undergone a lot of improvements, testing and audits. The IOTA EVM introduces features such as smart contracts, cross-chain capabilities, parallel processing, and enhanced security for miner extractable value (MEV). This launch marks an important step in combining DeFi with real-world assets.
